Overview
FreshRank speeds up reviving older posts by automating research, analysis, and draft updates. It pulls real traffic data from Google Search Console (GSC), uses AI to flag factual and SEO problems, and can produce an updated draft you review and publish — saving far more time than rewriting from scratch.
What FreshRank does
– Prioritizes posts that need attention now by importing GSC metrics (traffic drops, ranking shifts).
– Runs AI-powered audits to identify factual errors, outdated stats, phrasing issues, readability problems, and SEO gaps.
– Generates a revision draft based on those findings and your site-specific settings so you can review and approve the update.
Install and connect (WordPress)
1. Install FreshRank as a plugin: Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin → Activate.
2. Open FreshRank AI → Settings in your WordPress admin to finish setup.
Google Search Console integration (summary)
– Create a Google Cloud project and enable the Search Console API.
– Configure OAuth consent (External, app name, contact email).
– Create OAuth credentials: OAuth client ID → Web application. Add the Authorized redirect URI shown in FreshRank settings.
– Paste the Client ID and Client Secret into FreshRank and enable “GSC-based article prioritization.”
Note: FreshRank can operate without GSC, but prioritization and traffic-driven recommendations require it.
OpenAI setup
– Generate an API key at platform.openai.com/api-keys and enter it in FreshRank settings.
– Pick AI models (presets are a good starting point). Try different models to see which produces the best tone and accuracy for your content.
Analyze your content
– From the FreshRank dashboard you’ll see published posts; with GSC connected, sort by priority to target high-impact pages first.
– Click Analyze Current Page or Analyze next to any article to run a full assessment.
– The report shows a score and a breakdown of issues: factual updates, outdated stats, SEO gaps, headings and structure, readability, and more. FreshRank also looks for the freshest public information on the topic to surface needed updates.
Configure rewrite settings
– In Settings, pick which categories the AI should address during rewrites. Start with high-severity items like factual errors and major SEO problems.
– Add Custom Instructions to preserve brand voice, audience preferences, or any editorial policies (tone, banned topics, preferred terminology).
Generate, review, and publish updates
1. From an analyzed post, click Create Updated Draft. FreshRank bundles the post, the audit, and the prompts and sends them to the AI. Generation typically takes a minute or two.
2. Click View Draft Details to see what changed and why. Use View Changes to compare the new draft against the current live post within WordPress.
3. Manually tweak anything that needs a human touch. When satisfied, Approve Draft to replace the live post or save it as a draft for later publishing.
Practical tips for better results
– Prioritize pages that still rank for valuable queries but have declining traffic. Those are the fastest wins.
– Focus first on high-impact fixes: update statistics, refresh or add authoritative links, improve headings and meta titles, and correct factual errors.
– Use Custom Instructions to keep voice and brand facts consistent across rewrites.
– Experiment with different AI models and rewrite strictness settings to match your site’s style and accuracy needs.
– If a page has large structural issues, consider a partial rewrite instead of full regeneration (use AI suggestions as a starting point).
Tracking progress and measuring ROI
– FreshRank → Analytics converts traffic changes into potential gains and tracks performance after each update.
– Monitor changes in impressions, clicks, and rankings to measure the impact of updates and build a repeatable optimization pipeline.
